Happy Veteran’s Day to all that are serving, have served, and lost their lives for us!

No school on Friday due to Veteran’s Day

Reading: SOLs:

 2.12-Write stories, letters, and simple explanations

2.9-read and demonstrate comprehension of nonfiction text

Some friends are not completing their reading assignment on a nightly basis It will be logged the same as last year, and the expectation is that students read 30 minutes. Also, please have them log in two steps and place your signature beside it. On a daily basis, we should have 4 steps. The time may be broken into intervals. PLEASE SIGN READING LOGS NIGHTLY

Social Studies:  WE are transitioning to Social studies at the end of the week after finishing up some review in science. We are studying Native Americans. The first group of Native Americans is the Powhatans.

Math: 2.1 The students will d) round two- digit numbers to the nearest ten

Homework

Monday:   Have some quality family time; read for 30 mins and log in two steps; math sheet

Tuesday,: Have some quality family time; read for 30 mins; math sheet

Wednesday:  2 steps; math sheet

Thursday: Have some quality family time; read for 30 mins and log in two steps; Math board quiz

Friday:  Read at least 6 steps over the long weekend

Thanks to all of the parents and grandparents that came to Grand Lunch on Friday. I met so many grands on Friday. Also, thanks to the grands and parents that have purchased books for our class this week during the book fair. The kiddos will love them!

·   Nov. 9 – Salute to our Veterans Day – Let’s wear red, white, & blue to honor those who have served in our military!

·      Nov. 10 – Veterans Day Observed (no school!)

·      Nov. 14 – PTA Executive Board meeting (5:00) and 2^nd Grade Chorus performance (7:00)

·      Nov. 22 – 24 – Thanksgiving Break
