Some friends are not completing their
reading assignment on a nightly basis It will be logged the same as last year,
and the expectation is that students read 30 minutes. Also, please have them
log in two steps and place your signature beside it. On a daily basis, we
should have 4 steps. The time may be broken into intervals. PLEASE SIGN READING LOGS NIGHTLY
Science: Scientific
Investigation and Reasoning –2.6 The student will
investigate and understand basic types, changes, and patterns of weather. Key
concepts include a) identification of common storms and other weather
phenomena; b) the uses and importance of measuring, recording, and interpreting
weather data; and c) the uses and
importance of tracking weather data over time.—The storms
Math: 2.5 The student will a) recognize and use the relationships
between addition
and subtraction to solve single-step practical
problems, with
whole numbers to 20; and [Moved from 2.9] b) demonstrate fluency with addition and subtraction within 20.
WE are
doing a math review this week with a 9 weeks check-up on Friday: The test will
cover place value, even and odd, basic subtraction and addition, ordinal
numbers, fact families, and greater than/less than
Homework
Monday:
Have some quality family time; read for 30 mins and log in two steps; wear
a costume for book character day and bring the book. Please no masks!!!!
Tuesday,: Have some quality family time; read for 30
mins
Wednesday:
2 steps;
Thursday: Have some quality family time; read for 30
mins and log in two steps; review journal for math test
Friday: Read two steps over the weekend; 9 weeks quiz
in math
Thanks so much for the parents that came
to the school to help out with the Western theme door for the book fair
contest. If we win, we will receive books for our class.
