Our class will be taking water safety at the YMCS, the week of March 25-29^th. Permission slips will be coming in a few weeks from the YMCA. Your child will need a bathing suit and towel Tuesday thru Friday for the class. Also, I am looking for parents to provide a quick snack for the kids to have after swimming.

Please send all permission slips for our walking field trip to the Library. Thank you

Reading: SOLs:

 2.12-Write stories, letters, and simple explanations

2.9-read and demonstrate comprehension of nonfiction text

Some friends are not completing their reading assignment on a nightly basis It will be logged the same as last year, and the expectation is that students read 30 minutes. Also, please have them log in two steps and place your signature beside it. On a daily basis, we should have 4 steps. The time may be broken into intervals. PLEASE SIGN READING LOGS NIGHTLY

We are working on animal stories. WE are working on editing our animal stories for our short story collection.

Math:Sol: 2.7: The student will a) count and compare a collection of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters whose total value is $2.00 or less; and b) use the cent symbol, dollar symbol $, and decimal point (.) to write a value of money

We will also start measurement on Tuesday.

Science: WE will be starting magnets this week
