Week of February 25th

February 25th- March 1st

You may start seeing letters in the agenda from the GREAT acronym above. If you see a G from Great is means your child demonstrated growth today, R is demonstrating respect, E is demonstrating empathy, A is demonstrating accountability, and T is demonstrating trustworthiness.

Reading: SOLs:
 2.12-Write stories, letters, and simple explanations
2.9-read and demonstrate comprehension of nonfiction text
Some friends are not completing their reading assignment on a nightly basis It will be logged the same as last year, and the expectation is that students read 30 minutes. Also, please have them log in two steps and place your signature beside it. On a daily basis, we should have 4 steps. The time may be broken into intervals. PLEASE SIGN READING LOGS NIGHTLY
We are working on animal stories. Last week, we focused on plot This week we will continue to work comparing story elements within two stories


Math:Sol: 2.7: The student will a) count and compare a collection of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters whose total value is $2.00 or less; and b) use the cent symbol, dollar symbol $, and decimal point (.) to write a value of money

Social studies:Famous people: Caesar Chavez, Helen Keller(completed), Abraham Lincolncompleted, Jackie Robinson, Susan B Anthony, Martin Luther King(completed), Christopher Columbus(completed), Thurgood Marshall(completed), and George Washington Carver(completed), Rosa Parks.

Thursday: 2 steps, review time for math test, st math
Friday: 2 steps and have a great weekend!; interims go home
