had another awesome week and it was a full week!

Reading:
SOLs: 2.8j- Describe
how words and phrases supply rhythm and meaning through poetry; 2.8- read and
demonstrate comprehension of fictional texts; 2:.12- write stories, letters,
and simple explanations ( rhythm in poetry)
Students are still working on stamina,
but they seem to enjoy that they are back into the reading book bins. Your
child will be re-leveled and may have a different reading level than where they
ended based on where they are reading now. Sometime students slide or gain in
the summer, and that changes the beginning of the year level slightly.
Reading homework and logs will be going
home the first week of October school-wide. It will be logged the same as last
year, and the expectation is that students read 30 minutes. The time may be
broken into intervals
Social
Studies: 2.10 The
responsibilities of a good citizen: respecting and protecting the rights and
property of others; taking part in the voting process when making classroom
decisions; describing actions that can improve the school and community; map
skills
Math: 2.2 The student
will
