Week of April 3rd

Week of April 3rd-6th
We are finishing up our genre study on Animals
2.8 The student will read and demonstrate comprehension of fictional texts. a) make and confirm predictions. b) relate previous experiences to the main idea. C) ask and answer questions about what is read. d) locate information to answer questions. e) describe characters, setting and important events  in fiction and  poetry. F) identify the problem and solution. g) identify the main idea.  h) summarize stories with beginning, middle and end in the correct sequence.  i) draw conclusions based on the text. J) read and reread familiar stories, poems, and passages with fluency, accuracy, and meaningful expression.
Writing: We are publishing a 4 story collection
Math: 3rd Nine Weeks -
measurement- Review week of math skills: regrouping in addition and subtraction, temperature, time, measurement: liquid, length, calendar, grams, kilograms- 9 weeks test is April 7th on the computer

Science: 2.4
The student will investigate and understand that plants and animals undergo a series of orderly changes as they mature and grow. Key concepts include a)  animal life cycles; and b)  plant life cycles.

4/6- Math 9 weeks test on the computer
04/07  Professional Development Day – No School for Students

April 10th-14th- Spring break
4/16- Easter
Month of April is the Month of the Military Child. On the 21st, all students and staff are ask to wear purple to show support. If you have a relative or yourself in the military, please send in a picture to go on the Wall of Fame for the month (PTA will return pictures)
Homework:(subject to change)
Monday: 2 steps; work on St Math
Tuesday: 2 steps; work on ST MATH
Wednesday  2 steps ; work on ST MATH
Thursday: 2 steps
Friday: complete steps for reading for the weekend and have fun with the family
Spring break: Please try and complete 2 steps a day during break

Friday No school for students

Please check your child’s agenda each night and initial or sign by the color he/she earns for the day. Check red folders daily for any updates from the school or work completed
