Pals Testing conferences start this week=)
Reading stories of the week:  House Repairs and Frog and Surprise” Surprise
Spelling Words: (HF words: house, never, off, these, took
I have different spelling groups: Please check your child’s agenda
Monday:  Read for 15 minutes and have reading log signedm.  Study spelling word and write your words in your best handwriting, math sheet, study your spelling guide for Social Studies 9weeks test ( I will read the first Social Studies test)
Tuesday:  Read for 15 minutes and sign reading log.  Write 8 sentences with your spelling words , math activity , study for your 9 weeks test
Wednesday:  Read for 15  mins and sign reading log , study for pretest in spelling, Pretest in spelling is on Thursday (if you make a 100, you do not have to take the test on Friday), math sheet, Social Studies test is tomorrow
Thursday:  Read for 15 minutes and sign reading log.  Reread the story, Frog and Toad: Surprise for reading test, review skills for a math quiz on Friday
Friday- No homework, Enjoy your family-

Please check your child’s agenda each night and initial or sign by the color he/she earns for the day.
Please sign your child’s reading log on a daily basis
Important information: We have a very early lunch. With that being said, your child may bring a snack and a water bottle to school.
Homework is usually Monday thru Thursday. It can change from the homework sheet.
*** Start collecting box tops for the class*** Can we win?
Wish list: jump ropes, balls, or any other recess equipment, red pens, small prizes for the treasure box

Math- SOL 2.1(a) place value, comparing numbers (2.1)
Language arts: WE are working on character traits and feelings, reading high frequency words, long vowels e as in “e” and “y”, inflected ending –ed, command and exclamation, and drawing conclusions/inferences
Writing- learning “How to”
Social studies- 9 weeks test on communities and citizenship –Thurs/
 SOL 2.5- map skills- locating the equator, the seven continents, and 5 oceans on a map and globes b) locate select rivers(James, Mississippi, Rio Grande, Huange He, Nile, mountain ranges, and constructing simple maps
