Phonics Story: A Good Idea (ch-k, sch-sk; long
vowels at ends of syllables)
Unit 6 Story 4: Annie’s Gift (strategy-summarizing;
skill-theme/main idea)
Target Skills: 1) theme, 2) syllables ending in long
vowels, 3) consonants ch /k/, sch /sk/,
Spelling Words: ache, chorus,
stomach, chord, echo, school, though, group, uniform, music, also, soon, tried
Vocabulary Words: products,
invention, schedule radio, instrument, talented, cello, poetry, recorder,
practice, squeaked, embarrassed
Math:
2.18 The student will
use data from experiments to predict outcomes when the experiment is repeated.
2.20 TSW identify,
create, and extend a wide variety of patterns
Vocabulary: probability,
possible outcome, number of favorable outcomes, total number of possible
outcomes, impossible, unlikely, as likely, equally likely, likely, and certain,
extending, growing, repeating, patterns
Social Studies: SOLs 2.7 Economics- TSWBAT describe the differences between natural resources (water soil, wood, and
coal), human resources (people at work), and capital resources (machines,
tools, and buildings).
SOLs 2.8 and 2.9 Economics - TSWBAT distinguish between the use of barter and money in the exchange for goods
and services. 2.9 TSW explain that scarcity (limited resources) requires people
to make choices about producing and consuming goods and services.
Parents, I
do not like to ask for many things but we are in desperate need of an electric
pencil sharpener. We have one but it is not sharpening our pencils and the wall
sharpener eats them. If you can help, please let me know. Thanks
Homework
Monday: math
sheet, reading log- 20 mins, and write words two times each.
Tuesday: read 20 mins and sign reading log, study social
studies notes, math sheet, abc order
Wednesday:
Read for 20 minutes, math sheet, study social
studies notes take a practice quiz in spelling
Thursday: spelling
test, Read for 20 minutes, math sheet, reread Annie’s Gift for reading
test
Friday: Spelling
and reading test

Read a great book
