Unit 6 Story2: The Puddle Pail (strategy: Predicting; skill: Context Clues)

Target Skills: 1) Context clues, 2) long e: ei, 3) plural –es (f to v), 4) quotation marks

Spelling Words: calves, halves, shelves, wolves, lives, leaves, road, young, ceiling, neither, eight, round, start

Vocabulary Words: receive, favorite, ceiling, castle, collect, diamonds, ordinary, puddle, shadows, crocodile

Math- 2.15 The student will

a)  draw a line of symmetry in a figure; and

b)  identify and create figures with at least one line of symmetry.

Science: white tailed deer and butterfly life cycles; erosion and weatherig

Chrysler Museum:

We will be leaving the school around 9:05 and return by 1:00 on this THURSDAY. Please wear a RED shirt or CAES teeshirt so that we can recognize our students. WE already have the snack for the bus ride. Thanks to Mrs. McMillian and Mrs. Prince. Our class has the following chaperones that will be attending: Mrs. Prince, Mrs. Dickerson, Mrs. Neff, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Walker- If I am missing a parent, please let me know. If the weather is good, we may have a picnic outside. Bring a towel.

Homework

Monday: math sheet, reading log- 20 mins, write words two times each, study science notes

Tuesday:  read 20 mins and sign reading log, study science notes, math sheet, ABC order

Wednesday:  Read for 20 minutes, math sheet, take a practice test on your spelling words,

Thursday:  Read for 20 minutes, reread The Puddle Pail, math sheet,

Friday: Test on Puddle Pail, spelling test, math test

Friday: Read a great book
