Week of January 31st

Reading: SOLs:
 2.12-Write stories, letters, and simple explanations
2.9-read and demonstrate comprehension of nonfiction text
Some friends are not completing their reading assignment on a nightly basis It will be logged the same as last year, and the expectation is that students read 30 minutes. Also, please have them log in two steps and place your signature beside it. On a daily basis, we should have 4 steps. The time may be broken into intervals. PLEASE SIGN READING LOGS NIGHTLY
We will finish our weather unit for ARC( posters, etc..)
Math: 2- digit regrouping and temperature
Homework
Do your know your power goal?
Monday: Teacher Work day   
Tuesday: Teacher work  day
Wednesday : 2 steps; math sheet
Thursday: Have some quality family time; read for 30 mins and log in two steps; ST MATH
Friday: Math quiz on regrouping

                 March 6th-  2nd Grade Expo @ 6pm
   Feb. 8 – IWCS Board meeting (6:00)
   Feb. 9 (new date) – PTA-sponsored “Snow Ball” school dance; students must have a parent present throughout the event
   Feb. 13 – “Donuts for Dads” (7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.)

                 March 7th Elementary No School
                 Mar 13th K Music Program
                 April 2-6th Spring Break
