Reading: SOLs: 2.8e, h, 2.12, 2.13 : Ingredients of narratives: story elements such as character, setting, plot/events

Reading homework started last week. Some friends are not completing their reading assignment on a nightly basis It will be logged the same as last year, and the expectation is that students read 30 minutes. Also, please have them log in two steps and place your signature beside it. On a daily basis, we should have 4 steps. The time may be broken into intervals

Social Studies: Some students will be taking a retest on Wednesday on the seven continents and oceans. All graded test are in their mailboxes.

Math:

                                    We started PALS testing this week. PALS testing tests students instructional reading level, whereas the leveled reading from ARC (American Reading Company) tests students independent reading level. PALS testing will be completed on October 13th. 

Fall conferences will begin next week. I have many days and many time slots open both by phone and in person. If you should not see a day or time that works for you please message me, and we can try to work out another time. I want to meet with each parent so I can share reading levels and testing information, as well as progress in math. The sign up sheet will be at Back to School Night and on Bloomz.

ALSO, we completed our APEX FUNDRAISER! Thank you to all parents, family, and friends who donated to our fundraiser! Pledges can be sent into school with your child to be collected by our Apex team.
