Phonics Story: Start Collecting! It’s Fun! (Long e: ei)

Unit 6 Story2: The Puddle Pail (strategy: Predicting; skill: Context Clues)

Target Skills: 1) Context clues, 2) long e: ei, 3) plural –es (f to v), 4) quotation marks

Spelling Words: calves, halves, shelves, wolves, lives, leaves, road, young, ceiling, neither, eight, round, start

Vocabulary Words: receive, favorite, ceiling, castle, collect, diamonds, ordinary, puddle, shadows, crocodile

Math- We will be starting fractions2.3 The student will

a) identify the parts of a set and/or region that represent fractions for halves, thirds, fourths, sixths, eighths, and tenths;

b) write the fractions; and

c) compare the unit fractions for halves, thirds, fourths, sixths, eighths, and tenths.

Science: 2.5 a,b,c

            a) living organisms are interdependent with their living and nonliving surroundings b) an animal’s habitat includes adequate food, water, shelter or covering and spacec) habitats change over time due to many influences

Farm Day:

We will be leaving the school around 9:05 and return by 1:00 on this Wednesday. Please wear a RED shirt or CAES tee shirt so that we can recognize our students. Our chaperones are Mrs. Andresen, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Stuart, and Mrs. Burns, if I missed one, please let me know.

Homework

Monday: math sheet, reading log- 20 mins, write words two times each, study science notes

BAND CONCERT: Tuesday:  read 20 mins and sign reading log, study science notes, math sheet, ABC order, wear red or CAES shirt tomorrow and bring a lunch

FARM DAY: Wednesday:  take a pretest, reading log

APEX RUN: Thursday:  Read for 20 minutes, math sheet,

Friday: read a good book
