Phonics Story: How I Beat the Giants (ou, ow words; -ed and –ing endings)

Unit 3 Story 1: Lionel and his Friends: Play Ball (strategy-summarize, skill-cause and effect)

Target Skills: 1) summarizing; 2) vowel diphthongs ou, ow; 3) inflected endings -ed, -ing; 4) verbs; 5) ABC order (2^nd letter); 6) speaking well.

Science- Matter (will be starting Friday or next Monday)

History- 2.2 Lives and contribution of American Indians- Powhatan, Lakota, and Pueblo- final week- we will be testing at the end of the week

Math- Math- Adding two digit numbers with regrouping, testing on Tuesdayy and starting graphing

Monday:  Read for 20 minutes (AR book)and sign reading log.  Math sheet, study IN notes for history, write your spelling words 2 times each

Tuesday:  Read for 20 minutes and sign reading log, math sheet, and study social studies In notebook for quiz on Indians on Friday, abc order in spelling,

Wednesday:  Read for 20 minutes., study IN for social studies test, math sheet, study spelling words for pretest

Thursday:  Read for 20 minutes, study math notes for test , study social studies notes, reread the story, Lionel and His Friends: Play Ball

Friday: Enjoy your weekend!

Resources this week:   

Please check your child’s agenda each night and initial or sign by the color he/she earns for the day. Also, be sure to look through the red folder on Mondays to sign graded papers sheet and clean out. Please keep all social studies test and science test for nine weeks test in their social studies or science IN notebook

• Holiday shop is coming up 12/7 - 12/11. Students can go in the mornings after morning jobs are done or after they finish their lunch. 
• 12/8 - 3rd Grade Christmas Concert - 12/9 - 1:00 dismissal
• 12/12 - Smithfield Christmas parade
• 12/14 - McDonald's Spirit Night
• 12/16 - Interims go home
• 12/18 - Last day before holiday break
• 1/4 - Students return from holiday break
