High Frequency Words: call, enough, full, until, heard
cage, face, huge, page, tease, twice teachers’ men’s , ripe, patch

Target skills: 1)  –ce, -ge, -se words, 2) possessives: plural and singular, 3) predicting, 4) sequencing events, 5) narrative writing (2nd 9-weeks)

Stories of the week:
Phonics Story: Spiders Up Close (-ce, -ge, -se words; singular and plural possessives)
Unit 2 Story5: Anansi and the Talking Melon (strategy-predicting, skill-sequence)

History- 2.2 Lives and contribution of American Indians- Powhatan, Lakota, and Pueblo

Math- Rounding( this is a very hard skill for 2nd graders) , estimating with adding, adding without and with regrouping

Monday:  Read for 20 minutes (AR book)and sign reading log.  Math sheet- quiz on rounding on Tuesday, study IN  notes for history- test on Powhatans and First Americans on Wednesday, write your spelling words 2 times each, reading sheet
Tuesday:  Read for 20 minutes and sign reading log, math sheet, and study history IN notes for test Wed, abc order in spelling, reading sheet
Wednesday:  Read for 20 minutes., study History IN , math sheet, study spelling words for pretest, reading sheet
Thursday:  Read for 20 minutes, study history notes, reread the story, “Anansi and the Talking Melonfor reading test

Friday: Enjoy your weekend!

     Please check your child’s agenda each night and initial or sign by the color he/she earns for the day. Also, be sure to look through the red folder on Mondays to sign graded papers sheet and clean out. Please keep all social studies test and science test for nine weeks test in their social studies or science IN notebook
