Week of the 1st of December


Homework  12/1/14-12/5/14
High Frequency Words: been, show, since, friends, those
Spelling words: hugged, nodded, skipped, hugging, nodding, skipping, crown, shout, batter, baseball
Phonics Story: How I Beat the Giants (ou, ow words; -ed and –ing endings)
Unit 3 Story 1: Lionel and his Friends: Play Ball (strategy-summarize, skill-cause and effect)
Target Skills: 1) summarizing; 2) vowel diphthongs ou, ow; 3) inflected endings -ed, -ing; 4) verbs; 5) ABC order (2nd letter); 6) speaking well.
Science- Matter (will be starting Friday or next Monday)
History- 2.2 Lives and contribution of American Indians- Powhatan, Lakota, and Pueblo- final week- we will be testing at the end of the week- Jamestown program on December 2nd
Math- Math- Adding two digit numbers with regrouping, testing Wednesday and starting graphing

Monday:  Read for 20 minutes (AR book)and sign reading log.  Math sheet, study IN notes for history, write your spelling words 2 times each
Tuesday:  Read for 20 minutes and sign reading log, math sheet, and study social studies In notebook for quiz on Powhatan, abc order in spelling,
Wednesday:  Read for 20 minutes., study IN with study guides for 9 weeks test, math sheet, study spelling words for pretest
Thursday:  Read for 20 minutes, study math notes for test , study science notes, reread the story, Lionel and His Friends: Play Ball
Friday: Enjoy your weekend!

       Please check your child’s agenda each night and initial or sign by the color he/she earns for the day. Also, be sure to look through the red folder on Mondays to sign graded papers sheet and clean out. Please keep all social studies test and science test for nine weeks test in their social studies or science IN notebook

12/22 - 1/2: Holiday Break, return to school on the 5th
