General Information

                                 2nd Grade Parent Information

Dear Families,

Welcome to  2nd grade!  I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning with your child.  Throughout the year, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.  I can be reached at school ((757)238-2452), by e-mail (toparaji@iwcs.k12.va.us), or you may also send in a note with your child.

Discipline

Every student is expected to follow all classroom and school rules.

The Cardinal/School Rules are as follows:

-Follow directions

-Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself

-Use kind words

-Listen when someone is speaking

Students have opportunities to earn rewards in class for following school and classroom rules and for completing homework.  They will receive a homework buck for completed homework and a behavior buck if they go beyond the normal color of the day.  I also have a class treasure box. After we vote as a class( voting in the community is a citizen trait), we will be having special awards, including a trip to the treasure box.  We are always looking for donations for our positive behavior treasure box.

General Information

Attendance

Please note that instruction begins at 9:05.  If a student comes in late or leaves early, the interruption is distracting for others and can throw our class off schedule.  Doctor appointments and emergencies cannot be helped, but I appreciate parents making every effort to avoid interrupting instructional time.

Students may not be dropped off before 8:35 according to school policy.

Please make every effort to have your child at school before 9:05 so that he/she has enough time to prepare for the instructional day.
